Yellow bolero

What a joy it was to make this jacket. The fabric was a pleasure to sew, the design was cute, and the final product looked great. And it is such a happy colour!

The sleeves are particularly sweet

And I had fun with a Hong Kong finish on the inside (covering all the raw edges with bias strips).

This added a sentimental touch- the bias strips were leftover from making a baby dress for Lucia (reviewed here) and the original fabric for the strips was a remnant from my mum.

Technical details

Pattern: La Mia Boutique 07-2010-4

I made (Italian) size 40 for my daughter (she is a 38 in Burda).

Fabric: Heavy weight cotton sateen with spandex.
