In keeping with the last family holiday by the beach (arrrh), this one was themed too. Hawaii-themed.
Melissa shone very brightly. She sewed outfits for three members of her family of four.
Halter top and shorts from Easy McCalls 8218, sadly now out of print (OOP)
Wrap skirt with lovely pleating into the tie front (hard to see in this loud fabric…) from Style 2574, also sadly OOP
Shirt from McCalls 2149
I gave my BurdaStyle 07-2010-110 halter neck dress an outing by the beach (although a pair of jeans underneath made it more comfortable, warmth wise, by the time the sun was setting on the beach…).
The rest of my family had to make do with leis, grass skirts and blow up palm trees. Too busy to sew.
Even Percy the penguin looked the part, kitted out with a lei or two and a grass skirt. Most fetching, apart from the muffin top.
LOVE your halter dress! Looks like you had a fun day!
What a fun and fashionable way to say good
bye to the warm weather.
